Last year I had the honor of interviewing a few women in leadership roles at my company to celebrate International Women’s Day. I enjoyed writing the post so much that I asked to do it again. However, this year, I wanted to interview more women in our company.
The campaign focus for International Women’s Day is #PressForProgress, meaning communities need to motivate one another to press forward and progress gender parity. To celebrate, we asked 9 women in our company to share stories about the women in their community who motivate them.
My favorite quote from the piece comes from my co-worker Anna who touched on the spirit of #PressForProgress by stating:
It’s so easy for nice and polite women to listen and do their work, and live in the shadows of someone else’s success.
Check out all 9 stories about inspiring women and how their lessons are shaping the women in my company today.
My company has a monthly blog series called Employee Spotlights where co-workers interview one another to add some depth to our pictures on the site. It’s a way to share all of the interesting hobbies and skills people have outside of our office.
Recently, my co-worker and friend Ron asked to interview me for a Spotlight article. While I was hesitant at first, I knew Ron would take his task seriously and I wouldn’t have to worry about feeling silly writing about me. Ron invited me to lunch where we talked about work and life for well over our lunch hour. The best part of the meal is that Ron paid, too – thanks, buddy!
Recently, our editorial team asked that each post end with the same question asking each subject which of our company’s five core values do they identify with the most. It’s been my favorite addition to the series because it ties each narrative back to our work in a very individual way.
While I still felt silly writing about myself, my answer to that final question is the one that I’m most proud of out of the piece.
Which of our five core values (Sustainable Value, Integrity, Invention, Entrepreneurship or Rapid Response) do you identify with most and why?
I identify with integrity the most out of the five core values. I believe that going through your work and personal life with integrity may not get you in the winner’s circle every time, but getting there without it will most likely find you there alone. If my co-workers and friends know that I try to do what’s best for the team and our clients with honesty and hard work, then I feel successful.

Recently, Google announced that it was “experimenting” with using mobile content primarily over desktop content to rank results. This shift stay in line with Google’s increasing emphasis on mobile-friendly sites as the number of mobile searches continues to outpace desktop searches.
Since mobile users can be very demanding, I explored what this shift means for site owners overall, how to discover how mobile-friendly your site it, and important on-page factors to examine and optimize.
